Synopsis

Lauren had been raised to not be afraid of anything, and she lived by that code, that is until her dad died and left everything in her hands. Now she’s not only in charge of her two younger sisters, but she’s running a full-blown Texas ranch. Caring for a thousand‑acre ranch has its ups and downs, physically, mentally, and financially. All she is looking for is a little break. What she doesn't have time for is someone who will only complicate her life further.

Chase is back in his hometown. Helping his dad with his veterinary practice is high on his list. So is being with the lovely Lauren West. Years ago, he found a unique way to bind them together. Now all he has to do is prove to her that he’s the right man to spend the rest of her life with.

My Thoughts

Loving Lauren, is about a girl who lost knowledge of who she was when she was forced by obligation and guilt to grow up too fast; first with the death of her mother and then years later with the death of her father, and assume the responsibility of her two younger sisters and their families ranch.

I loved this book, and would read it again in a heartbeat. It was short but was a straight to the point kind of romance. The book opens up with the prologue, explaining her mother's death and how even years afterward Lauren was still carrying around this guilt and blame she was shouldering.  The book brought out a lot of emotions; the sad beginnings and then the moments of hilarity between Chase and Lauren.

Lauren is this very headstrong, stubborn as a mule kinda gal, set in her ways, Chase comes back and shows that he won't take no for an answer when it comes to anything, especially her well-being and protecting her.

I really liked Lauren's sisters, their personalities were very different and how they reacted around one another was again hilarious. I can't wait to read more about them in the rest of the series. This was definitely an awesome read.

My Rating: 4.5/5
